Out of All The Things You Want, What if You End Up As Nothing?

There you are, you wake up, you have a vision of where you'd want to be and all the things you would have, either materialistic or not. The same day, before you sleep, you think of all the possible ways to turn those dreams into reality.
Fast forward, a few years later, you are still where you were when the first dream appeared.
You have still not successfully implemented the plans you had for achieving those goals.
This happens to many people.
We want all the things we desire; we have these big dreams, but as we grow, there comes that voice saying, "What if I do not reach any of my goals?"
The older you get, the louder that voice becomes. And more statements get added on, like "With all the things I want out of life, what if I end up as nothing or as a nobody?"
In the midst of that, you see your peers seemingly achieving their goals, and before you know it, it's your birthday —a reminder that you are getting older without having achieved any of your childhood dreams.
Anxiety creeps in. You begin not wanting to share your actual age when others ask you.
The feeling of being a failure visits you more than the dreams you had.
You start thinking that all along, you may have been delusional about your ability to achieve all the dreams you had.
What you may not know is that many people go through the same experience.
No matter how impossible your goals may now seem, the trick is to never allow the thoughts of giving up to overwhelm you and eventually coerce you into giving in.
This is what makes life exciting and thrilling - aiming for a future we are uncertain about.
Wishing for things we only see in our minds, but hope to see them in reality.
Even if we end up as "nothing", the contentment of working towards something bigger than ourselves is what keeps us sane compared to those who give up and merely go with the flow.
Ending up as "nothing" is a choice one makes. Whether out of all the things you want, you got zero. Seeing yourself as nothing is purely a subjective perception one chooses to view him or herself.
I mean, some people have all the things you dream of, yet they see themselves as "nothing" as well. The choice lies within oneself.
