You Are Not Cursed, You're Blocking Your Own Blessings

A week ago, I met an old acquaintance, and as we chatted, we naturally asked each other about how our lives had been. He told me, "Nothing seems to be working out for me".
He explained that he had gone to see a prophet/seer in an attempt to understand how and why his affairs are the way they are.
According to him, the prophet gave him some direction, but to me, as an observer, the prophet made things worse for him.
The prophet told him his luck was somewhat stolen; he had had a dark cloud over him.
Now, he aims to find out who "stole his luck" and remove the "dark cloud".
The exact reason why I say the prophet made things worse for him.
For a lot of people, when things don't go their way, they resort to finding out why from others.
And always, it is because of other people or something external. Which is where the blockage of one's own blessings commences.
Many find comfort in believing that they are not responsible for how their lives are. It is something else's fault. That delusional belief is what blinds them from discovering and utilising their skills and blessings.
The moment you believe that how your life is someone else's fault, you have already dug yourself a hole of failure.
Of course, there are external elements in life, particularly in a spiritual realm, that play a role in how our lives are shaped, but as an individual, you have the main superpower to control your life through your energy.
But I mean,
It's not my fault that I chose partying over education.
It's not my fault that I am a couch potato who channels hop all day.
It's not my fault that I maintain the same habits I've had since I was a teenager.
It's not my own doing that I choose to doom scroll TikTok day and night instead of acquiring a new skill that can improve my life.
This is the mentality that many find comfort in. The victimhood mentality.
That is how you are blocking your own blessings. Which is where the so-called prophets, sangomas, seers and whatnot become your place of comfort. Telling you what you want to hear.
So, as an adult, before crying out that you have been cursed, it is always the best approach to take accountability that how your life is, can be, or will be is primarily influenced by you, your thoughts, emotions, and actions.
You are not cursed. You got lost in delusionally believing superstitions, through possessing the victimhood mentality.
